Disaster Assessment Team (DAT) Training
DAT is the tip of the spear in disaster response. DAT teams are ADRN’s first boots on the ground in the field. They identify the area and degree of destruction. Their assessments provide leadership with the critical information necessary to properly deploy resources and volunteers. This training will cover spiritual readiness for first response; disaster assessment procedures, roles and challenges; safety and typical hazards encountered; and a practice disaster assessment.
To qualify for DAT designation, participants must be CERT or ham radio trained, 21 years old, and in good physical condition. Others not presently qualified may participate to receive DAT designation upon completing prerequisite training.
