Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Training

Course #:

When disaster strikes and you want to help, do you feel helpless and have questions like these - How can I help? Where do I go? Who do I report to? What do I wear? CERT teaches you how to prepare to be ready and answers all these questions.

Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is normally a 7 day, FEMA backed, nationally recognized course that will equip and train you in the essentials of disaster preparedness to support your local community, such as Fire Safety, Light Search & Rescue, Disaster Medical Operations & Psychology, Terrorism and Disaster Simulation. ADRN offers this course both on site in favorable conditions and also offers it On Demand to study and prepare at your leisure for Skills Practice and Simulation days. This is an excellent course and well worth the time invested in it! You will be able to use the training learned in the classroom and during exercises, to assist your family and others in your neighborhood or workplace following an event when professional responders are not immediately available to help.

CERT training is conducted over six (6) evenings and one (1) Saturday. On the final day of training, students will walk through skill drills in a real-life-like exercise and simulation. It is also offered On Demand to study over the course of 8-10 weeks prior to attending Skills Practice and Simulation days.

Prerequisites can be completed following the training or prior to registering for CERT, but must be completed to receive full credit for course completion.

Prerequisites: IS-100 and IS-700 (FEMA free online courses, clear background check
